HIGH  END  3-DIMENSIONAL  DISPLAYS
.
Our prismatic viewer is designed to work anywhere, with any media, but for casual use only.  For those who want "the real thing", such as virtual reality games, feature length videos, or detailed scientific / educational simulations, there is another option.

Liquid Crystal Glasses (shutters), synchronized with a desktop CRT monitor that alternates the left/right images at high speed, provide the right answer.  You get a full screen format, and a level of quality unattainable with any other 3-D video display.

Among several 3-D systems available, we found VR Joy to be the best.  Besides having a high quality product, the company paid a lot of attention to COMPATIBILITY and MEDIA CONTENT.  As a result, their system works with almost any desktop PC currently on the market, and the installation is very simple.  Also, you can find a very large variety of media - from video materials to virtual reality games and "edutainment" programs.  Finally, they offer user-friendly software to those who want to produce their own stereoscopic images for "alternate field" display.

For CONSUMERS, the installation can be as simple as plugging a "dongle" adapter between the computer and the monitor.  Mac users may need to add a VGA board.  The system works with ordinary CRT (desktop) monitors.  Most laptops and flat panel displays can't switch the alternate fields fast enough.  So if you have a regular desktop PC purchased in the last two years, most likely you have all the requirements.  For the price of a regular computer game, you now have access to a 3-Dimensional display that will show virtual reality worlds in a totally different perspective (game included!)  The system also shows images from the REAL world in vivid depth!

For PUBLISHERS, the VR Joy system offers the best compatibility with computers now available on the market.  The technology is ideal for media products and for high bandwidth 3-D video communications.  Television cannot compete with it, since good quality 3-D requires a screen refresh rate now available on most PCs, but not offered by the HDTV standards.  Some extra attention must be paid to technical aspects - for example, using VRML instead of "garden variety" HTML on Internet programs and other applications.  Please contact the company for more details.
